📖 Zipvilization — Chapters

Public progression, not a promise

What This Folder Is

This folder defines the chapter system of Zipvilization.

Chapters are not marketing milestones.

They are structural stages of the civilization.

Each chapter represents a level of system maturity:

  • technically
  • conceptually
  • socially

Nothing here is speculative.

Nothing here is hidden.

What a “Chapter” Means in Zipvilization

A chapter is:

  • a coherent system state
  • a publicly readable progression point
  • a shared reference for users, builders and observers

A chapter is entered, not launched.

If a chapter is active, it means:

  • the required systems are live
  • the guarantees described are true
  • the previous chapters are already fulfilled

What Chapters Are NOT

Chapters are not:

  • deadlines
  • promises
  • feature drops
  • marketing phases

Zipvilization does not “ship” chapters.

It reaches them.

Overview of Chapters

Chapter 0 — Genesis

The system proves its existence.

  • Solum is deployed.
  • The on-chain substrate becomes immutable.
  • The civilization gains the right to exist.

Nothing else can happen before Genesis.

🟢 Chapter 1 — Observability

The system becomes publicly readable.

  • On-chain reality becomes observable.
  • Nothing is hidden.
  • Everything can be independently verified.

Existence becomes transparent.

🟢 Chapter 2 — Territory & World Formation

The world gains structure.

  • Territory becomes meaningful.
  • Maps become coherent.
  • SolumWorld represents the civilization.

Reality gains space.

🟢 Chapter 3 — Colonists & Roles

Actors appear.

  • Wallets become colonists.
  • Behaviour becomes observable.
  • Roles emerge from actions.

The world gains inhabitants.

🟢 Chapter 4 — Time, History & Evolution

The world gains memory.

  • Historical states are preserved.
  • Evolution becomes visible.
  • Time becomes part of the civilization.

Nothing meaningful can evolve without memory.

🌌 Chapter 5 — Emergence, Community & Open Horizon

The civilization becomes larger than its initial design.

  • Emergent behaviour appears.
  • Community becomes structurally relevant.
  • The future remains intentionally open.

The civilization begins writing its own history.

Why Chapters Exist

Chapters exist to solve one problem.

How do you explain a living system without freezing it?

The chapter system provides:

  • clarity without rigidity
  • progression without hype
  • openness without chaos

It allows Zipvilization to grow in public, without pretending to know its final form.

Relationship to the Rest of the Repository

  • Solum defines what cannot change.
  • SolumTools defines what can be observed.
  • SolumWorld defines what exists.
  • SolumView defines what is seen.
  • Zipvilization explains how those layers become a readable civilization.
  • Chapters define when each layer becomes observable, coherent and mature.

This folder is the temporal spine of the project.

Reading Guidance

If you are new:

  1. Read the chapters in order.
  2. Do not skip ahead.
  3. Read them as states of maturity, not promises of future development.

If you are technical:

  • Chapters tell you what must already be true, never what might be built later.

If you are an observer:

  • Chapters tell you where the civilization is now.

Core Principle

Zipvilization does not promise a destination.

It promises:

  • consistency
  • continuity
  • the freedom to evolve without lying about it

Chapters are how that promise stays honest.
